How The Economic Crisis Should Change You
Below is a small excerpt from an article that you can read in it's entirety at http://cfm.informz.net/cfm/archives/archive_186111.html
How do we become flexible? The answer is to become financially free and depend on the Lord. Government is not our Savior, Jesus is.
And, if you’re still tempted to depend on the government, think again, because the mortgage meltdown is “cheap compared with the coming fiscal firestorm fanned by unfunded Social Security and Medicare costs. Together, these programs hold unfunded obligations totaling $41 trillion—60 times larger than the proposed Wall Street bailout.”8
Our country desperately needs God, and we need to live in such a way that people want to know more about Him. Will you now live out his financial principles for your life? Will you be a changed person?

Phone Call
I just got a phone call and the caller ID said "Concerned Woman". So I answer thinking I'm going to give them a piece of my mind (I assumed they were a feminist organization). Much to my delight and surprise they were NOT! They were calling to educate the public about how Obama stands regarding abortion. They are attempting to do a mass media campaign to do so. I'm thrilled to finacially support such a group. It is so criticall to keep Obama out of office. I urge you to review their web site and if you agree with what they stand for PLEASE give. Even if it's just $10.00 - GIVE! Let's do what we can to stop Obama.
Note: Not to say that I'm thrilled with the McCain but we have to choose the lesser of two evils so to speak.

This is a great organization!

More Pictures!
I've uploaded a lot of pictures to my flickr account. Click on the link at the top right hand side of this blog to view them! Enjoy!
Congratulations Elizabeth
Tonight she lost her very first tooth. She lost it when she was eating dinner and didn't realize that she had until after she was done eating. She felt around with her tongue to play with her tooth and it was gone. We're guessing she swallowed it.

Six Random Things
Okay, for the record, I don’t usually do these things…but, I’ve been tagged by a good friend. So here I go :)
This is called the Random Things Meme…and here’s how it goes:
Rules of Engagement:
1) Link to the person who tagged you.
2) Post the rules on your blog (copy and paste 1-6).
3) Write 6 random things about yourself (see below).
4) Tag 6 people at the end of your post and link to them.
5) Let each person know they have been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6) Let the tagger know when your entry is up.
Here are 6 random things about Nicole
1) When I was 11 I had emergency surgery to have my appendix removed.
2) I can't stand Seuarkraut. In fact that is what I ate the night I started having stomach pains...the next day I had the above surgery. My poor friends mom had to clean up my vomit. She drove me home and we were in the driveway when I realized I was going to hurl but I couldn't figure out where the door handle was.
3) When I was 20 years old my car broke down in the middle of nowhere at 1:00 in the morning. It was pouring down rain outside and cold of course so I just leaned my seat back and went to sleep. I figured I'd deal with the situation in the morning. I woke up to a knock on my window and a mans face. I said a quick prayer as to whether or not I should speak to him. Okay...no red flags...I trust you Holy Spirit. I rolled down my window and told him what had happened. He offered to take me home. Again I said another quick prayer. After I got in his truck and saw a brown paper bag in the shape of a bottle I questioned my decision. But I made it home in one piece without becoming a victim. Thank you Lord!
4) Which brings me to my 4th random thing. My car! I'll never forget it. I would be driving down the road and go over a bump and oops my trunk popped open. Or that nasty exhaust leak...I always smelled like exhaust. Or my locks breaking so you couldn't lock the door. But one time I was out with a good friend Adele and she must have forgot (or maybe I forgot to tell her)...wait a minute I have to back up. Adele and I were going out to lunch at the Olive Garden. She also wanted to get a few things at a craft store not to far away. My memory is a little shaky on the details but it seems to me I was waiting for her at the Olive Garden while she took my car to the craft store. After what seemed like forever...no wait I think I had a cell phone than and she called me and asked me what the trick to opening my door was. I walked (in the cold) to the craft store; had to move the very heavy bag of pellets my dad had put in the car to give me better traction on the icy roads, crawl into my trunk, kick the backseat out to get inside the car. What a car! There is more but this random thought has already become quite lengthy.
5) I had my first baby in a birthing tub at home. I love being pregnant and giving birth. I actually look forward to my next birth. And no I'm not pregnant...just hoping that God will bless me with another someday.
6)I sucked my middle three fingers as a baby/toddler until the day I fell (I think on a picnic table) and bit my tongue quite severely. I couldn't suck all three anymore because it hurt to bad. I have a nasty scare to this day on my tongue.
Wow that was kind of fun. This is the first time I've ever participated in something like this. I'll be hard pressed to find 6 people that have blogs to tag though.
I'll tag:
Alecia because I haven't seen you since we went to lunch at the olive garden what four years ago and would love to get together again someday.
Rose We have way to much fun when we're together...or at least we did...let's try it again!
Lanaya We need to get together at least once more to scrapbook before school start.
Sarah I could use 6 more random thing to get to know my sister-in-law better.
Jennifer I'm so sad I didn't get to go to Spokane this summer. I miss you and need to hold you baby before she's not a baby anymore.
Karren Sorry to drag you into this. I just don't know very many people that have blogs that actually blog on a regular basis. Besides I like you!

Isaac's latest and greatest!
Isaac continues to carry on the baby stol torch of CLIMBING! He used my file box the used to be stored under this chair and climbed all the way to the top of that booster seat. And he was so proud of himself too. Neadless to say...I've found a different spot to keep my file box.

It's Time to Post!
I have downloaded a ton of pictures. Click on the link to the right for your viewing pleasure! Time is going by fast and our precious babies are getting so big. Haley is talking really well. She's well on her way to being potty trained. Isaac is becoming a master explorer. He goes everywhere...even up. He's a climber just like the other Stol babes. Morgan is almost 4. I have gone to the Lord in prayer many times asking Him to give me wisdom on how to get through to her. I've really seen a softening over the last few months. I've had a breakthrough with Elizabeth as well. When she wake up in the middle of the night she'll actually talk to me and tell me what is wrong. The kids love playing together (most of the time). I love being their Mommy!
Lesson Learned
Elizabeth was trying to make an indoor pond using the rebounder to collect the water. After a few buckets full of water she realized that it wasn't working as planned.
Ready...Set...Go!
As you can clearly see Haley is one of the dogs, Morgan is the driver and Elizabeth is helping get everything set so Haley can pull Morgan and her sled. (Inspired by the movie "Snow Buddies"

Time to EAT!
I just can't get over how cute my son is! He loves to eat. You wouldn't really be able to tell that by looking at him though he's such a skinny little guy.
Fun Times!
I was able to get together with a dear old friend that feels more like a sister. This was a while back and I'm ready for another Susie fix!

Fun times!
What does doo doo and a clean load of laundry that hasn't yet made it into the dryer have in common?
Haley Jean!
She was inside the washer getting ready to hand the clothes to Elizabeth so she can put them in the dryer. Before she could get started she just needed to go to the bathroom first.
I suppose there are worse places she could have gone. If you haven't guessed I'm potty training her. It's been going really well. I definitely didn't see this coming. Now every one of the girls has a nasty doo doo story. I'm beginning to think we need to schedule a prayer meeting to break this generational curse.
I love being a mom! It's the best job in the world! Even in the midst of doo doo in my washing machine.

Fajita Seasoning Mix
I try really hard not to feed my family artificial anything including preservatives. There are very few items I can buy in the grocery store that are free of anything artificial (I stay away from corn syrup, sugar and refined foods like flour and white rice). I believe most of the degenerative disease (cancer and such) in this country has a lot to do with the poisons we put in our body day in and day out. God made our body's so amazing that if we would just give them a chance they will fight their way back to health. As you can see this is a little soap box of mine. Relax I know exersice and environmental toxins play a part in disease as well. I could go on but that is not the purpose of this post.
For those of you who are interested in eating healthier try making your own seasoning mixes. They taste better and is cheaper too. So here is another entry for the contest (the link is in the post below).
Fajita Seasoning Mix
1 Tbs cornstarch
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp cumin
I make a huge batch and store it so it's ready when I need it. I cook my chicken (cut into stips) and then add the seasoning to it with some water. It works best to add a little water to the seasoning to work the lumps out before adding it to the chicken. I saute onions, red peppers and corn and them mix it all together with the chicken and put it in a tortilla.

White Chicken Chili
This is so YUMMY!
2 large jars of Great Northern beans
3 cups chicken broth
2 garlic cloves
2 medium onions
4 cups cubed chicken (approx. 4 chicken breasts)
2 - 4 oz cans green chilis
2 tsp ground cumin
1 1/2 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp cayenne red pepper
Grated cheddar or monteray jack cheese
Salsa & sour cream if desired
In one tsp of oil, saute garlic and onion until sauced. Add beans & broth to mixture. Shred chicken (or cube) and add to mixture. Add chilies and spices. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook on low for 30-40 minutes. Great to make a day ahead. Serve with cheeses and sour cream for topping.
I use dry beans and guess about how many to cook. If I remember correctly I used a pound of dry beans. I also omit the cloves.

Check it out!
I did most of my Christmas shopping on line this year and I came across this company that has found a way to pay the shoppers a percentage of what they buy. It's pretty cool and best of all it's free. Check out the link to the right. You also get paid to refer others to sign on. It's simply a way for the stores to advertise. It's actually the stores that are the ones that pay us. Neat way to advertise. Give it a try. It's free!
